we all got stories but please me what there is to complain about....

Wasn't planning on posting, actually haven't thought about my blog in awhile but I was driving home from breakfast with a friend and the One Republic song "Good Life" was on the radio and i just starting thinking about the good life i live and the awesomeness of this last year!

So i guess the purpose of this post is to document the awesomeness that was 2012. And to make you guys laugh a little bit.

First off, I am done with Victoria Secret, forever. After all the money spent there I stumbled on this store called intimacy and they measured my size as one Victoria secret doesn't carry in store and i uncovered the conspiracy  They have been selling me the wrong size because they didn't want to say they don't carry my size. The inhumanity!!!!!!!

I actually have loved living in a city i used to call the toilet of Texas. Houston is kinda of awesome and is really starting to feel like home. We even have "art." Bari picked it out.

Yep, We have spears on our living room wall. People seem to like them. Speaking of Bari, being married to him is awesome and remained awesome for all of 2012, even if i don't love his "art"

I have made some really good friends this year in Houston. I have always said its harder to make friends once we leave college but because of church and Bari's friends being heterosexual i have some really cool new girl friends in Houston.

Work since my last blog post has changed again. I am now a project manager. I have a job I love and a path to the work i want to do forever. I honestly think this is the first time i am sure of what i want to do next and thats awesome.

Because of this awesome work i got to do in 2012 i am now PLATINUM on United. That means i flew 75,000 miles last year. A few people have asked me what is so awesome about having status. I am not really sure, but I know its better than not having status on United. I have a few free upgrades so thats nice. and Well yeah....so there.

Ok, so anyone who has read more than 2 of my 46 posts knows that exercise and sticking to it has been a long time challenge for me. This year I became a runner. Like not just a oh i have the new nike free tennis shoes but i run in Brooks, have black toenails from all the running, and then to top it all,  I completed a half marathon. That is 13.1 miles of mostly running. Me and 13.1 Miles....so there is that.

Ok, I am over blogging but 2012 brought me my Bestie Dean Wester! My new baby girlfriends Teagan,  SJ and Penny P! Got to celebrate Sloan's first birthday  Ty's second birthday and hang with Channing who "needed" a cupcake, girl after my own heart.

I am not even going to say i am back. but here is a post

Hello!

I came to blogspot to check if they had reclaimed the domain and they haven't, so i read some posts. Made myself laugh and decided maybe i have something to say.

I am going to Nigeria next week for the first time since 1994. My Mom called to tell me what to pack. Really? She said don't wear halter tops. Ok well now i am prepared.

Since I last blogged a lot has changed. I left branch banking and now work as coach. I guess you could call me a trainer. Bari got a new job and we moved to Houston. I discovered Pinterest. Shelby had a baby. Jessica had another baby. Lauri had another baby.

So for the first 6 months of my new job i traveled. The position is actually 100% travel so I leave Houston on Monday morning and come back Friday night. I got silver status on Continental. Then they merged with United and my silver status means less. No upgrades for me. Being gone for business means business pays for your food. They call it a meal cap. If you thought i ate a lot before, imagine a meal cap.

I worked in Seattle for 3 months, and San Diego for 2 months. I was home for most of December. Seattle was awesome. I did hot yoga, ate, walked around, ate, shopped, ate. Oh and I ate. In San Diego i drove, ate, ordered a lot of room service, ate, Drove to LA with Ademide. We ate.

I have been working from home for about a month and i have learned a lot. If I don't shower before my first conference call I am not showering till 4. If I feel my teeth at noon and can't remember if I brushed them, I brush, can't hurt to brush again. I often shower and put on new clean pajama pants, why waste going out in the world clothes. Sometimes i put on work out clothes in the hopes that I will be ready to run between calls. Doesn't really work but I am going to keep trying.

Don't think because i haven;t been blogging i haven't being visiting my girl Victoria. I got a few more incredible and an incredible Racerback. Very cool. Snaps in the front. The last time i went they tried to get me something that did fully cover your boobs. What kind of worthless bra is that. Can't even remember what it was called.

Back to Pinterest. Pinterest allows me to feel better about eating because I have to cook the food first. Bari is confused because cooked food should be cheaper but I have to buy new ingredients for most meals and some how it cost the same or more. Like the $12 Marscopone Cheese. Makes me want to start a food blog and take pictures. I also get to be crafty sometimes. Not very often. There are other people on Pinterest who are there for workout plans and silliness like that, I ignore them.

I just baked raw and burned Banana bread. Its healthier, no sugar or milk. Bari is out of town so I am going to enjoy my dinner of wine and banana bread.

bye friends...

Guess who's back....Back again....

Hello to the 2 of you who will notice I blogged.

Victoria Secret has a new bra. Its called the Incredible. Really, The Incredible. That being said it is pretty awesome. It has self adjusting straps which I like because I used to spend half the work day pulling up my bra straps up in the bank lobby. Not a good bank manager look. Next month the husband and I will be paying off credit card debt I have been carrying since first moving to Dallas. I bring this up because we will paying off many nights at Knox St Pub and my very first Victoria Secret Bra. It only took 5 years. I don't even have the bra anymore, trust me, it was not incredible.

So in January I blogged about the work biggest loser competition. We were so committed that we did not lose any weight. Instead of declaring a winner, we bought lunch at chick fil a with our money. Very unsuccessful venture. My body fat was not out of control though. So that was good. I was glad to find out it wasn't unhealthy.

As more of my friends have babies I am finding a lot out about pregnancy. More than I ever wanted to know. While babies are cute and light up your life, I am not sure I am ready to carry one anytime soon. I thought child birth was scary enough. But the 10 months (not 9 months because it's 40 weeks) before you push the sucker out, have their own traumas that are very, very scary. It's sad the the 30 lb weight gain is the least of my worries. Do y'all think that surrogacy when its not medically necessary is wrong? Just kidding!!! Unless y'all think its a good idea? :)

I always hear women in their 30s and 40s say that they wish they hadn't cared so much what people thought about them in their 20s. I am trying not to care in my 20s so i don't have that regret in the 30s but so far no luck.

I thought I was done blogging forever. My last post received a comment that hurt me and I realized that while most of what I write here is light hearted and not important at all, I am still putting my thoughts, feelings and actions here for others to judge and comment on. I guess coming back to blog is part of learning not to care in my 20s.

I am super happy for the Mavs!! I was rooting for the Lakers because I am a good wifey like that! But I am happy for the Mavs. Their win was full of class! I got a little emotional watching the trophy ceremony thing. Yay Mavs!!!!!!!!

Next week I am starting a Kettleball boot camp class. As my loyal blog readers know this would not be my first, second, or ever third attempt at boot camp but I am hoping the fact that I can go after work and not at the ass crack of dawn will make this attempt different from the others. I willl keep y'all updated

Ok good night peeps!

Happy New Year!!!!

I am shocked by the fact that I haven't blogged since August. That is Crazy!!!!!! I mean I was just a silly wife-to-be in August, now I am an old married woman. The wedding was soo much fun and I felt the love from friends and family in a big way. Thanks again peeps!!!

The shooting that happened in Arizona yesterday is so sad on so many levels. I think in finding a reason and a place for blame fingers are going to be pointed all over the place, but while I am a Democrat, I can't blame the right wing rhetoric for this. At the end of the day the only person to blame is the man who pulled the trigger. Its sad that our representatives can no longer feel safe doing what makes this democracy awesome, speaking and meeting with their constituents.

We are starting a biggest loser competition at work. It's based on body fat and our first weigh-in is tomorrow. I hope my body fat percentage is not terrible. I don't think I am in the unhealthy levels but it would suck to find out I am in front of all my tellers.

Kim from Real housewives of Atlanta just said "my two passions in life and my children and my music" Ummm someone might want to tell her to focus her energy on my children.

Since getting married I kinda feel disconnected from my friends. I have been trying to call or email people lately but I haven't connected with everyone. I am working on it. The awesomeness that is life has my husband living in a different city during the week. I guess seeing him less I call him more and am not calling the rest of you. If you haven't heard from me since the wedding, I am sorry and will be calling soon!

I mentally broke up with a friend lately. this is going to be scattered but follow me if you can. All of my past relationships were clearly dead ends. I never had a relationship that might have worked out until this one. I have never been in a mediocre relationship so I think I didn't realize I was in a mediocre friendship. Now I see and I am ending it.

Y'all are going to judge me when I tell you why I am back on blogspot. Its the new Victoria secret bra. I had to come vent the ridiculousness of Victoria Secret. So one of my tellers got a holiday job at Bath and Body works and while she never actually works there she gets a 40 percent discount on Victoria Secret so I told her to pick a bra for me. She picked "The Bombshell" To quote my husband (Tee Hee, I have a husband) I looked like Sophia Vegera. Well my boobs looked like Sophia Vegera's. I thought I hated it, but having the girls look ridiculous is kinda awesome.

Ok that's it for now, Good night readers!

any song title would have just been corny.....

I thought I was done with blogging forever but Victoria's secret has a new bra and they managed to top the "perfect" bra. Its called "the incredible" and it has self adjusting straps. I am curious about self adjusting straps, how can that work? I have no clue what they will call the next one. Where do you go from incredible?

The problem with trying to give good customer service is people confuse doing your job with truly caring. Today this guy tried to educate me on chess and convert me to Christianity. Don't get me wrong, I want your banking experience to be awesome but that's really it. Oh, and I had to call 911 for a guy who thought he was having a stroke in my lobby. He wasn't.

just when I thought VH1 had given all they had to give the awesome writers come up with Money Hungry. Its like biggest loser but the dirty trashy vh1 version. Each team of 2 puts up $10,000 of their own money and the team that loses the most weight wins $100,000. No real focus on the workouts, just on the drama and the drinking.

Huge news, I am getting married. Kinda of a big deal, guess I shouldn't have said non-husband on the blog. I flirted with non baby daddy yesterday and I think I saw tiny tears of fear roll down his face. So husband will have to do.

Speaking of babies, Bonnie is about to give birth anysecond. I can't wait for Dean to get here! Oh and this blog is awesome.

I am so excited about being married but I am very much over being engaged. We are getting married in November and people keep asking why so soon? If this is soon I would hate to experience not soon. I guess it would be nice to have more planning time, but I am feeling good about how things are going. I am ready for the day to come and go and my mother to go back to her old self.

Now that Abraham has a son in law in his radar his lectures have gone from "when will you get married" to "when you get married...." He is trying to give me wifey lessons. These conversations are so painful i actually miss the when are you getting married talks.

Everyone says that you lose lots of weight before your wedding. Mine is less that 90 days away and so far no weight loss. This is my current weight loss plan, does anyone know when it is going kick in?

Lauri is doing all of my stationery for the wedding and she is awesome. If you have any design projects please talk to Lauri!

I went to Chick fil a last Friday and the drive thru line was wrapped around the building. I mean is the chicken really that good? Really? People need to find a new place to eat. that being said I waited, but just because i was picking up food for other people. If it was just me I would have left. I think. I hope. Well probably.

Half the time I forgot what I am writing as I am writing this. Maybe I am getting old.

Not-yet-husband pointed out that a lot of my blog posts end with me going to find food. Just so all of you know, that is not what I am going to do right now.

Layla, you've got me on my knees, Layla....

Happy April Friends!!

The best thing about my job is i get to talk to alot of different people everyday. The worst thing about my job is that i get to talk to a lot of people everyday. Working with the wonderful people of Benbrook is quite the adventure. In the last week I have been cussed out, I have had a customer tell me she loves me, but the best conversation of late was with a guy who is convinced that he is going to win the lottery. He wanted to sit down with me and make sure that all of his winnings would be safe in the bank and covered by FDIC insurance. REALLY! People make me laugh, but i am going to cross my fingers for him cause maybe he will hook a sister up with some cash.

The babies are multiplying and its so much fun to keep up with everyone and where they are at in their pregnancies. I got to meet Miss Channing a couple of weeks ago. She is precious and I kinda want to be BFFs with her. I have never met Remi Roo, but he is precious and I love him from a distance. Now when I am out and see children Its different. Its kind of mind blowing that my friends, people my age have the lives of little people in their hands. I have made it my mission to give the best gifts ever. I am probably going to waste money on stuff that only fits for like a week, but their mama's will love me for that week. I got Channing some really cute baby heels and one of my tellers told me i was helping create a prostitot. Yep you read that right, Prostitot. Baby Prostitute. She is a bit dramatic, but i guess showing her this picture was not helping.

I was trying to come up with a new nickname for my dude on here. One of the girls at work suggested non husband but i am hesitant to go with that so soon. Non-boyfriend, became boyfriend, Non-Husband becomes....well you see where I am going with this. Heavy stuff. For now Dude will do. Pearl Joy calls us Bife, which I think is pretty cool!

The strange thing about where I live in Ft. Worth is that to one side of my apartment complex is a really nice neighborhood with huge beautiful houses and on the other side is a slightly rougher area called Como. A couple of years ago I needed to get my hair did and I couldn't get in to see my regular person so i went to this very nice woman in Como. While i was in there a camera crew came in to film a documentary called 1sqMile. I thought nothing of it till today when I saw that they actually made the documentary and they will be showing at film festivals around the country. I think its pretty cool. Side note, the Como lady chemically burned the mess out of head and I never went back.

Last weekend we went to a wedding. It was very pretty and I am super happy for the newlyweds. The weekend reminded me that Nigerians are difficult to deal with. All of the weddings I have been in have been non Nigerian. And seeing the inner workings of a Nigerian wedding was enlightening. Nigerian weddings sometimes have an added element called the traditional wedding or traditional engagement. The point of the whole thing is really awesome because if focuses on the fact that when people get married their families get married and its really about the joining of the two families. BUT, Nigerians sure do know how to draw things out. Four hours later i was really not feeling the love.

While I love my girlfriends I think its really hard to deal with new women. Guys are just easier to be around. I feel girl on girl crimes are more prevalent than black on black murders. We just don't seem to be comfortable with each other. I think my next hire is going to be a man. I need some testosterone in my work place. All these women are stressing me out. I can't handle all these hurt feelings. I tell you messed up on a transaction and then you start crying. Jigga what?

I love watching Real Time with Bill Maher. He is so brutally honest. Sometimes he hits way below the belt, but for the most part he is right. One of my readers told me not to be political on here, so i am going to try and avoid my political opinions but i read this yesterday and I just wanted to share it. Interesting read.

I am tired now. Today's song is just because its a bad ass song. Yay Eric Clapton.

Dear People that read my blog, I am very sorry for the randomness that you are about to experience.

This is like 2 months of blog, It should be really long but I haven't had anything to say for 2 months so it will probably pretty short.

On Friday night I did the beverage equivalent to uppers and downers. Red Bull to stay awake and red wine to go to sleep. I was going to finish this on Friday after the wine, but the downers kicked in too fast.

I went to see the Percy Jackson movie. It was actually pretty good. But I will warn you if you have seen the first Harry Potter movie then you have pretty much seen this one. If i was J.K. Rowling i would be very upset with Rick Riordian (Author of Percy Jackson books). Talk about swagger jacking. But since J.K. Rowling is refusing to write any more Harry Potter books I have decided to get in to Percy Jackson.

I am racist towards Aggies. Why must they BTHO all the time? Why can't they be happy to win the game? Very silly Aggies. And why do they care so much about UT? UT doesn't care about them. I think they put crazy in the College Station water. Don't drink it. BTHO TU, doesn't even make grammatical sense. And Whoop? What is whoop!

Went to the Jay-Z concert last week. He put on a great show. Probably the best concert I have been to. The most amazing part was when he thanked the audience. Every artist does it, but when he thanked everyone at the AAC for coming out, I believed him. And y'all know I don't believe much. He seemed so honest and genuine in his appreciation of the fans who make his life possible.

The friends with babies is at a whole new level. While at Babies's R Us yesterday I joined the the rewards program. I am pretty pumped about the fact that I am going to spend a lot of money there in the near future and Yay for rewards for it! Last night was Kelsey's shower, I got Miss Channing her first pair of high heels! They are soo cute!

I was a little reluctant to return to work after Christmas and New Years Eve so i looked in to taking my work pension. Unfortunately if i retired today i would get $20 a month for the next 17 years. I guess I am going to keep working. Even if Abraham took me back I couldn't survive on that.

I saw movie The Book of Eli a while back. Awesome movie. They managed to talk about God and Christianity without being Cheesy. I had no clue what the movie was about before seeing it and I really think that's the way to go in to it.

The state of Utah passed legislation that can, but hopefully won't, end up prosecuting women for miscarrying. What is wrong with this county? Like there is not enough pain in that situation? Really?

I got a new weave. Blah.

I am starting to understand people who don't watch the news. I used to think they were ignorant and just burying their heads in the sad. But lately I have come to conclusion that politics is crap. I hate to be such a huge cynic but the last year has shown me that neither party is going to do anything to change our lives. The democrats had a huge majority in the House and Senate and really should have been able to get anything they wanted done. And they didn't do anything. As much as they cry about Republicans being the party of No, they had/have the power to shut them up and they can't get all their own people in line. Boo.

I am going to DC next week and I am seriously considering protesting outside the Supreme Court. Ademide is taking to to the Senate and the House and I am going to find something hard and round to throw at our "representatives" Maybe i can knock some sense in to them. Very silly men and women. What should I put on my sign? Thanks for making it worse!

Well that's all for Feburary! Hope y'all had a great month! Talk to you in March!
